TAXES USING IRS WEB SITE
Lou asked if Bob could just do his taxes using the forms on the internet instead of buying a tax program each year. I do. I do a draft on the form that comes in the mail and then type the numbers onto the fill-in form on the web and print. Only takes a few minutes and I can print three, one for Fed, for state, and my records. Some day I will use E-file, when it is on the IRS site.

A kilobyte is a thousand bytes, (1,024 bytes). A megabyte is a million bytes, or a thousand Kilobytes. A gigabyte is a billion bytes. A gigabyte is two to the 30th power, or 1,073,741,824 in decimal notation. A 3 1/2" floppy holds 1.4 megabytes. A Compact Disk (CD) holds 700 megabytes or 500 floppies. A DVD holds 4.7 gigabytes or 6 CDs. A 20 gigabyte hard drive with 10 gigabytes of free space can hold 200 music CDs w/60 minutes of music if copied as MP3 files or 20 if copied as wav files.

TEXT TO SPEECH - SAYS LETTERS AS YOU TYPE
XP has ‘Narrator', which reads text and says letters as you type. Click on the ‘Windows logo key' and the letter ‘U' at the same time. Highlight ‘Narrator is running', click on ‘start'. When I turned on the club computer, to my surprise it was talking to itself. Someone must have used the ‘Windows logo key - U - U' shortcut to turn it off and hit the logo key and U first, turning Narrator on.
