CLUB ROOM OPEN FOR E-MAIL

The computer club room (room 5) is open 5 days a week for people to use the club computers to get their E-mail. The schedule is in the room door window. The phone jack in the library is available for those with laptops to access the internet. Tell your friends who didn't bring their computers or if their computers are out of order. Thanks to Jean, George, Charlie, Ed, and Phyllis for volunteering to keep the room open.

NEED HELP WITH YOUR COMPUTER?

MORE ON CREDIT CARDS

Last month I mentioned getting 5% cash back with the CITI credit card.

Arlene mentioned she received a call she thought was from her credit card company and gave them all her security info for her card. She realized she might have been scammed and immediately canceled the card. Maybe changing your card often might avoid problems.

CUSTOM GUIDE

Custom Guide has a very good Windows XP manual that I mentioned in the January 9th NewsNotes. They also have quite a few other titles. Unfortunately they have discontinued selling the printed copy. You can down load a copy for evaluation purposes at:

THE TOMATO CROP

Pam and I have been enjoying the fruits of our labor (tomatoes are fruit). Pam picks the tomatoes when they get a blush of red so the birds don't peck them. We had BLT sandwiches last night. We are getting one tomato a day. Planted on November 9, still two months to pick them.

WIRELESS ADAPTERS

If the park gets wireless service, a wireless adapter will be required to get on line. While PCICA cards work well in an office or home where the wireless devices are near each other, a wireless USB adapter will be better where it may be necessary to place it near a window to receive a good signal. Best plan would be to wait till the service is available and see what it takes.
