ISCHEMIA

In medicine, ischemia (Greek, isch- is restriction, hema or haema is blood) is a restriction in blood supply, generally due to factors in the blood vessels, with resultant damage or dysfunction of tissue. That is what they thought Pam had and when they operated they found it was an internal hernia. A cord had gotten wrapped around the intestine and cut off the blood supply.

Pam is doing fine and should be out of the hospital Wednesday or Thursday and back to line dancing in two weeks.

So far I have helped four people order their SBC telephone service online to get free installation. They each saved $38. Free is good!

TASTE OF LA FRONTERA THIS MONDAY, JAN 16

A group of us will again be attending the Taste of La Frontera at the Jacob Brown Auditorium in Brownsville. Tickets are $15 and it is all you can eat and drink provided by Brownsville, Matamoros and South Padre Island restaurants. We will be helping serve the free beer, wine and soda, and doing crowd control. The event is a fund raiser for Charro Days, the celebration of the sister cities of Matamoros and Brownsville. Pam will be with us in spirit.

TASTE OF MATAMOROS FRIDAY, JAN 20

In 2003 we attended the Taste of Matamoros. It is $8 per person with free food, drink and entertainment. It is sponsored by the Matamoros Restaurant Association and is held at the Olympic Park. Park at the university and busses take you from the International Bridge to the park and back for free. Hope to have a group to go together, let me know if you are interested.

It starts at 5 PM but getting there early (3:30 - 4:00 PM) avoids the crowds.
