NEWS NOTES - AUGUST 18, 2003

NEWSNOTES ARE BACK - FIRST SINCE 28 MAY

There is a good chance AOL will cancel my password again because I have not been sending the NewsNotes once a month per the rules. Use ken@newsnotes.us to send E-mail.

I have so much to tell - my diet, lost 35 pounds, 20 to go; my new Dell computer, 17" flat panel monitor, DVD+R recorder, for $650. My tomatoes are way ahead of prior years, have had red ones for over two weeks.

I GOT THE BLASTER WORM

Turned on my computer, went to the internet and my computer shut down. Tried again, same thing. Talked to Wendy's boy friend and he gave me the links to get it fixed. I used my sister's Mac to download the files.

If you know of someone with the worm, give them a hand. You need to download a tool and a patch and place on floppy or CD and they can put it in their computer and run them.

They need to turn off ‘System Restore' while running the tool.

FREE REFILLS ON GLASS CLEANER AT SAM'S

From Fat Wallet:

I purchased two 2-fluid ounce bottles of no glare lens cleaner. The two-pack was located in the optical department in the accessory area. This can be used for eye glasses and lenses on binoculars and cameras among other things I gather. The kicker is that on the bottle it states "When Your Bottle of lens Cleaner Is Empty Take to Any Sam's Optical Department For A FREE REFILL For The Rest of Your Life." For someone who wears glasses or even if you need a lens cleaner, I think this is a great deal.

PAM'S NEW SCOOTER

Pam wanted a new car so when she came to me at the Saint Germain flea market and asked to buy a scooter, I jumped at the chance - figured it would buy me another year with the Dodge caravan.

Picture of Pam on the scooter. (Is saving it for FunNSun).
