NO SBC(ATT NOW) HOOKUP FEE FOR ONLINE TELEPHONE ORDERS
When I ordered my telephone service, I did it on line because they gave a $38 refund on the connection fee if you ordered online. I see on their web page they now wave the entire $50 fee. If you need help or would like to give me a referral from SBC, let me know.

I HAVE HIGH SPEED MODEMS
I was not too happy having to drive to McAllen to save the $20 delivery fee for the modem to get the high speed internet. I talked them into giving me some, so others could just pick them up here in the park. I am at J-147.
The procedure is to get the modem and then call their office and sign up and get activated. Their number is (866) 683-7979. You can also pick up the modem at their office in McAllen. So far over 35 people in the park have picked up the modems.

SBC LOCAL AND LONG DISTANCE FOR $40 A MONTH
last year I had Sprint because they offered local and unlimited long distance telephone service for $50 a month. This year I checked with SBC and got the local and unlimited service for $40 a month, and by ordering on line, you can get installation for free (free is good). See free installation above.
