HIGH SPEED INTERNET - I FINALLY HAVE IT
After hoping, pleading and waiting, I finally have high speed internet. It is a little more expensive than I anticipated at $29.99 a month for the service and $5 a month to rent the equipment. There is no activation fee or equipment deposit. The speed is not the fastest (350 to 450 kbps), a third the speed of the T-1 line in room 8, but still 10 times faster than dial up.
It is from the same people that would have sold us the equipment to supply the park with wireless internet for under $2,000 for the equipment and $200 to $400 a month, with speed to match the T-1 line.
I plan bring it to the computer club party tomorrow.

I had to connect a keyboard and flat panel LCD for Pam to use her old laptop, because when she moved it, the power went off. Luckily Dell made an offer I couldn't refuse. I think it will be a while before she uses the DVD burner, though.

When someone runs across a marked down price or sometimes a price mistake, they mention it on the forum. Over the years I have saved on cameras, computers, AOL service (I pay $7.95 a month), and many other items. The site is a collection of 'good finds' by the Fat Wallet readers.
