NEWS NOTES - September 25, 2005

GAS PRICE TOO HIGH

We saw the gas is up to $2.79 in our town (Lake Tomahawk). Too bad we have to buy 300 gallons to get to San Benito. Usually the price is lower by the time we get to Oklahoma City. Hopefully it will be lower after October 1st. We plan to leave as soon as the weather turns cold.

We don't have any plans on the trip south, maybe we will catch a flight out of Ft. Worth or San Antonio. Have to see how the trip goes.

PAM CAUGHT A MUSKY

Last month Pam caught a 32" northern pike, this month she was fishing with our son Kenny and caught a 35" musky. Now that is a big fish!

OUR GREATGRANDSON VISITED

Our grandson, Kenny, and his wife, Danielle, brought our grandson Gavan to visit. He had a good time but Pam was worn out by the time he left.

BEARS

We have continued to have visits by the "little bear", taking our suet, but this week we had a little bear and four cubs come through the yard. It will be a very beary season next year.

Rozella sent me some bear pictures, getting the bird food.

SUMMER LINE DANCING

After looking for seven years (not that extensively), we have places to line dance up north. Jean and John called to tell us of dancing in St. Germain, then we saw in the paper that line dancing is held in Rhinelander, and when there, we heard of line dancing at a ballroom south of Rhinelander. Pam is in her glory.

ACTIONS ON HAVING LOST YOUR WALLET

Norm sent me a reminder about actions if you lose your wallet.

It is a good idea to place the contents of your wallet on a photocopy machine and make copies of all your cards and licenses. Then if you lose your wallet you have the numbers to notify the issuers. Also you should call the credit bureaus. I put a web page with this info and their numbers at:

NEWSNOTES PUBLICITY

I got the following from Bucky.

‘Thanx for the update on Newsnotes. I think you had mentioned it to me at one time but I forgot all about it. You should tell people about it on channel 8 and in the monthly Fun N Sun newsletter if you don't already.'

I rely on word of mouth - if you know someone that might be interested in the Newsnotes, have them e-mail me.

NEWSNOTES PRIVACY POLICY

I do not provide e-mail addresses as a general rule. I will pass one or two to someone who asks for addresses of specific individuals who they may have lost the address of, or desire to keep in touch with. That happens once or twice a year. Your email address gets more exposure when someone e-mails you and does not use blind copies and all the recipients see your address along with theirs.
