THE LOON IS ON THE NEST

Not the Eagle has landed, but still one of the highlights of our summer is the birth of the loon babies on a rocky outcropping near our pier. This is very late in the month, last year the babies were born the 9th of June. We will keep a close watch and chase the bald eagles every time they come near.

FUNNSUN WORKERS CAN HELP

Received the following from Pat Stotler:

‘Thought you might like to know the problem regarding the park employees is solved. After our meeting and the letters we sent they have decided that we are unhappy and they are going to resolve that feeling by letting the workers come in after hours and work in the park for the residents. The workers will have to sign a disclaimer but that is no problem. So far that is all the news. Glenn did say they were going to move the fountain but he did not say where. Have a good summer. Pat Stotler'

Thanks to all that wrote.

NEW CAMERA - CANON S200

After I got the Olympus C-2100 last summer and got rid of my small Fuji, I still had a Fuji that was too big to carry in my pocket. At one of Dick's demonstrations, I saw he had a big camera and also a small pocket size that was easy to carry around. When I saw on Fat Wallet that I could get the Canon S200 for $250 with card reader and 128 MB Compact Flash card, I bought it. The size is great for carrying and I remember how satisfied Doc was with his small Canon. The Olympus is still the King with 10 X optical zoom, but now I can get the shots I was missing because I didn't have the camera with me.

FIRST PIG ROAST OF THE SEASON

Jean and John Harth left a message on our machine about a pig roast on May 24, so we met them at the Kathan Inn for a great meal.

THE GARDEN IS IN

I planted my zucchini and tomatoes and the rhubarb and asparagus are up. Pam mended the holes in the deer netting, and we are looking forward to a big harvest.

THE FISH ARE BITING

I have been to Clear Lake four or five times and caught fish to clean every time. Sunday I went with my neighbor, Danny, and we each got a dozen blue gills and he caught six bass (catch and release until June 21).
