NEWS NOTES - SEPTEMBER 28, 2003

HEADING SOUTH

The temperature has hit freezing and we have finished our packing for the trip south. We are set to pull out in the morning. I just have a few chores left and we will be on the road. Three days driving to Oklahoma City and then take a break after we switch back to short pants again. Then down to Corpus Christie for a while. We will meet some friends and travel around Texas till November 1, when we will arrive at FunNSun RV Park in San Benito near Brownsville.

$50 FOR REFERRING SOMEONE TO FUNNSUN

Received our FunNSun summer newsletter and it mentioned that if someone who did not stay at FunNSun last winter comes this winter to stay for 3 months or longer, and gives your name, you can receive $50 off your rent. If you are coming to FunNSun and did not stay last winter, be sure to give someone's name so they get the $50.

Pam has been fishing and reeling them in. Pam and Rosella, our next door neighbor, went fishing and Pam caught a 22 1/2 inch northern and Rosella caught a 19 1/2 inch small mouth bass. Pam caught a 19 inch Largemouth bass that weighed over 5 pounds. She also caught a 30 inch musky.

WIRELESS WEB FOR FUNNSUN?

Last year on the way home we stopped at Pioneer RV Park in Port Aransas and enjoyed their Wireless Web system. I hooked my wireless USB adapter up and had high speed internet in a matter of minutes. I received an E-mail from Bud at the Escapees park in Benson, AZ. He said they were getting it and it gave them around 300 kbps for $21, and included an E-mail account. Not bad for high speed internet. I asked Pat Stotler and she said the new manager mentioned something about the park getting high speed internet. It would be great.
