1GB Secure Digital (SD) MEMORY CARD 80X FOR $29

Now that Jonay bought the Panasonic DMC-FZ7 camera, she needs a bigger memory card for taking pictures. Outpost.Com has a 1 GB card for $29 plus shipping and tax. It is an 80x, which is good for recording multiple shots using the 6 megapixel FZ7.

RIOPLEXWIRELESS WORKS WITH VOIP

Marcel showed me how ITP4U worked with the RioplexWireless modem. He placed a call to Canada and said it worked well. VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) is a way to make local and long distance calls over high speed Internet. He also used another VOIP system, Skype, and said that was good also. Someone had told him VOIP would not work with Rioplex, or he said he would have gotten Rioplex right away, instead of having to talk on the phone using VOIP in room 8 when other people were there using the computers.

Next season we will have to do a demonstration of using VOIP for your local and long distance phone service

ROY'S FLYING MACHINE

We saw Sherry leaving FunNSun as we were departing, and met again at the rest stop on the way north. She and Roy were on their way to San Antonio for Roy to take a flying lesson with his new powerchute. Then we met them at Pioneer Park, they said the lessons went well. We are looking forward to seeing Roy fly in the fall.

PAM HAS HER DISH ON THE ROAD

One of Pam's main criteria for a RV Park when on the road is their cable channel selection. This trip I surprised her and brought the dish along. As soon as we got to Pioneer Park I set it up. I looked at the other dishes in the park and aimed in the same direction and got the San Benito local channels without even getting out the compass. A little aiming and all the channels came in and Pam could use her digital video recorder (DVR) to record all her shows and zap the commercials while watching them.

WEB SITES OF INTEREST

At the computer club meeting, Bruce showed web sites submitted by club members as their favorites. Some handy reference sites and some unusual. Check them out. Some are pretty neat.

LIN'S BUFFET 48 DEMERITS

One of our favorite restaurants in the Rio Grande Valley is Lin's Chinese Buffet, especially the one in Weslaco. Channel 4 Action News showed their inspection results on TV tonight, 48 demerits, one of the worst. I hope they get them cleared up before we return in the fall!
