PANASONIC DMC-FZ1 12X OPTICAL STABILIZED ZOOM
I have been looking at the Panasonic DCM-FZ1 and -FZ10 digital cameras as they both have a stabilized 12X optical zoom lens, the FZ1 is 2 megapixel and the FZ10 is 4 megapixel. HIGH SPEED INTERNET NOW!
At the last club meeting, Don mentioned the Harlingen Library was going to be a wireless hot spot and you could get on a T1 line through their wireless network free. Tuesday afternoon Bruce and I went and uploaded and downloaded some large picture files (1.2 MB).
Wednesday night I went with Hoagy and Don and we each tried it with our computers. Hoagy uploaded 157 300k pictures to the web in 30 minutes. The reading on the McAfee Speedometer at the library averaged 1.3 Mbps (1,300 Kbps) or 3 sec for a 600 kb file. At home it averaged 45 seconds for a 150 kb file, 27 Kbps. The library was about 50 times faster.
You just go to the second floor and sit at a table and use the network, you don't need a library card or have to sign in. There are also desktop computers with high speed for those that don't have laptops, but you need a library card which is free. The library hours are Mon - Thur 10 AM to 9 PM, Fri - Sun 1 to 5 PM.

We need a 12A1970 black ink cartridge for one of the printers in the club to refill with ink. If you have one, please bring it to the club meeting or E-mail me. I refilled the Epson printer that Bruce donated and it was working fine.
